FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about Stororama. For more detail, see our About Us page and our Terms & Conditions.

For hosts

How high is the Stororama fee?

Using Stororama is free for hosts. The 15% fee is included in the price the renter pays, and is deducted from the rental price you set. Your earnings and the fee are shown transparently when you create your listing.

How and when do I get paid as a host?

The renter pays automatically via a PayPal subscription to Stororama. We pay out your share to you via PayPal or bank transfer — so as a host you don't need a PayPal account of your own.

Who is liable if something happens to the stored items?

Stororama is purely a matching platform and, per our terms, takes on no liability for the actions of hosts or renters (except for intent or gross negligence). There is currently no separate insurance or deposit product through the platform — that is arranged directly between host and renter. Details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Do I need to own the space to rent it out?

You need to be authorized to rent out the space you list — e.g. as the owner, or with the consent of the owners' association if it's a shared basement. This is a requirement under our terms.

How do I set my rental price?

When creating your listing, we show you a guideline price. Since this guideline isn't currently tailored by region, it's also worth checking prices for comparable self-storage or storage room offers in your area. You can deviate from our recommendation at any time.

Is there a deposit or insurance through Stororama?

No, not currently. A deposit or insurance isn't part of the platform — hosts and renters arrange that directly if needed, e.g. via their own liability or home contents insurance.

For everyone

How does a booking work?

The renter sends a booking request, which the host accepts (or either side can withdraw it free of charge up to one day before). After that, payment runs automatically via PayPal subscription for the duration of the rental. See our About Us page for the exact steps.

Can I also rent short-term?

Yes. Alongside long-term, monthly rentals, there is also a short-term, daily option — useful e.g. for luggage while traveling.
